Day 1, About Me:
Hello, My name is Jose. I come from Forest Grove and I am here because I want to learn about the different programs and scholarships offered by this and other Colleges and Universities. I also want to get to know more people who are in college and ask them, how is it to be a college student and how to get the help needed.
Day 2, Challenge Course:
When I first got to the challenge course, I was prepared to do them all and to be honest I wasn't really scared because I had alredy done the the last year so I pretty much had an idea of what was going on. Once I was up there (in the vines), I was actually kind of scared because the wind was too strong and it made me go back and fort, which also made it difficult for me to hang on to my rope and keep a balance. After finishing that, I felt more confindent of myself and I wanted to do more of them, I was thrilled. But there were a lot of people waiting to do them and since I alredy had a chance of doing them last year, I thought I'd give them the chance to do it, because it was only this day. I decided to help with the ropes, but I still got the chance to do the Zip-Line and the Double Wire one. My roomate and I tried to do the Giant's Ladder but unfurtunately, when I was climbing I fell and I scratched his arm and he gave up, so we could do it, but overall, It was a great day.
Day 3: Classroom Day.
Today we pretty much spent all day in the classroom learning about understanding our potential, setting goals and identifying the cualities of an ideal leader. We also worked on some short videos in our Technology our with iPads, we used an app called animoto and educrations. It was really fun learning about them.
Day 5: Thank You.
Yesterday we went to the beach and had a lot of fun. It was also cold but I think it was really worth since I saw that everyone enjoyed being there. Today was an interesting day for me, because I woke up really tired and we had some college visitations, where I learned a lot of new things abouit this University (OSU) and other public universities as well. It was a great experience being part of the OMLI again this year and I just want to thank all of the staff members for being there for us (even though some of you acted really mean), I get it, maybe you're just tired or maybe I am just annoying, anyhow, It was a great experience. I really like the fact that the staff members are almost always positive and ready to get going.
